Alitalia Kirksey believes that's exactly where the real work begins. Alitalia is the founder of Learning Re-Engineered™, where she builds reading, writing, and study strategies for students in grades K through 12 in faith-based, homeschool, and private and public school communities. Her approach is grounded in nearly three decades of experience in education, an M.Ed. in Learning and Technology, and five years of specialized training through Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes®.

When a child reads every word but can't say what it meant, or studies for hours and can't remember it when it counts, Alitalia doesn't see a lack of effort. She sees instruction that skipped a step the brain needs to remember information, and that's what she fixes.

Her teaching is grounded in how the brain processes, remembers, and organizes information. It starts with helping students build a clear picture in their mind of what they're reading or what they want to write. That foundation makes it possible to read accurately, write in a way that says what they actually meant, and study independently. From there, she helps students notice how they think and learn, so they can recognize what's working and use that awareness in new subjects and other areas of life. What makes all of it stick is that the content connects to each student's interests, culture, values, and lived experience, because the brain remembers new learning more deeply when it connects to what a student already knows.

Through one-on-one tutoring, her game-based program Learning Quests™, and self-paced resources, Alitalia works to reach more students with instruction built around how they learn. Her goal is for every student to feel seen in their strengths, capable in their skills, and confident in their ability to grow.
